EWTN Documentary
Takes YouBehind the Scenes
of the Christian Genocide in Iraq

Irondale, AL (EWTN) –
As details of genocide of 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus began leaking out of Rwanda in 1994, the secular media and Hollywood jumped on the story and dozens of films were made, including the award-winning “Hotel Rwanda.” But who is making a film documenting the “religious cleansing” of hundreds of thousands of Christians in the Middle East? Who is courageous enough to brave the possibility of being beheaded, burned alive or crucified, to bring the world the voices of those Christians whom Muslim extremists have been hunting off the face of the earth?

Enter intrepid Italian filmmaker Elisabetta Valgiusti, who traveled to Erbil in Kurdistan, site of U.S. bombing against ISIS, in late 2014 to film an EWTN Original Documentary, “Voices of the Persecuted: Nineveh’s Christians in Exile.” See the extraordinary results of this investigative journalist’s work at 10 p.m. ET, Wednesday, April 1. If you want to know more about what is happening with Christians in the Middle East, do not miss this program.

The documentary will be preceded by a special “EWTN Live” with Bishop Yousif Habash of Our Lady of Deliverance Syriac Catholic Diocese in the U.S. and Canada. (Airs 8 p.m. ET, Wednesday, April 1.)

“[Muslim extremists] are not just displacing, but uprooting the existence of Christianity in the Middle East,” said Bishop Habash said. “They want to exterminate Christians, and nobody is saying anything – not the U.N., organizations, universities.”

During the documentary, you will learn about the fate of the quarter million Christians in Nineveh who miraculously escaped the invading ISIS terrorists on the night of August 6, 2014, with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Bishop Habash believes that the slaughter of so many of his countrymen has left no more than 300,000 to 350,000 Christians in the Middle East. Most are living in terrible conditions in Erbil.
The question is: What can be done? Bishop Habash has some answers. To find out more, tune in Wednesday, April 1 at 8 p.m. ET to “EWTN Live” and at 10 p.m. ET for this extraordinary documentary.

EWTN PRESS RELEASE

EWTN To Partner With
Habitat for Humanity Greater Birmingham
For 2015 ‘Pope Francis Build’

‘EWTN Service Day’ Friday, March 27

 Irondale, AL (EWTN) –
EWTN Global Catholic Network will participate in Habitat for Humanity Greater Birmingham’s “2015 Pope Francis Home Build.” As part of its support of the home build for a local family, the Network will provide Habitat with a team of volunteers for “EWTN Service Day” on Friday, March 27.

“Throughout our history, EWTN has always tried to give something back to the Birmingham area, which has been so supportive of Mother Angelica and the mission of the Network. EWTN was pleased to accept Habitat for Humanity’s invitation to participate in its 2015 Pope Francis Build,” said EWTN Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Michael P. Warsaw. “EWTN employees participated in the 2011 clean-up after a series of tornados devastated our area. We are looking forward to assisting in the build of this home along with people from churches throughout the Greater Birmingham area.

“This is proving to be very popular with our employees, many of whom have homebuilding skills, although Habitat does not require that of its volunteers,” Warsaw continued. “We are scheduling employees in shifts to accommodate everyone who wants to help!”

The Pope Francis Build was initiated by an anonymous donor at a number of Habitat’s across the country to honor Pope Francis for his commitment to the poor, to provide a unifying celebratory opportunity for both Catholics and non-Catholic volunteers to work towards a common goal, and to further Habitat’s mission of building and preserving homes.

Editors: Please contact EWTN to interview Warsaw or to arrange to accompany or photograph EWTN volunteers on “EWTN Service Day,” Friday, March 27.

     22-mile pilgrimage to the mountain
where the saint fasted for 40 days

IRONDALE, AL— Instead of going to the pub this St. Patrick’s Day, why not take a pilgrimage?

On March 17, EWTN will air “Patrick’s Peak: An Irish Pilgrimage”! Journey with Host Bob Dolan as he follows St. Patrick's footsteps in the “Tochar Padraig” walk, a pilgrimage on Ireland’s west coast from the 800-year old Ballintubber Abbey to Croagh Patrick (St Patrick’s Mountain) 22 miles away, where St Patrick fasted for 40 days.

Witness the majestic Irish landscape and learn some fascinating facts about Croagh Patrick from Irish natives. You will also have a chance to meet some interesting people along the way, including a Franciscan brother who has climbed the mountain countless times. Learn how a pilgrimage is more than just a long walk but a prayer, a sacrifice and an opportunity for us to use the scenery, the solitude, the peace and the quiet to reflect on where we are on our journey, to recommit to where we are going, and to grow closer to Christ.

REVEALED: ICON of 21 Coptic Christian Martyrs in Libya by COPTIC AMERICAN ARTIST

Coptic American Artist Tony Rezk is the humble writer of this now famous, beautiful Icon of the 21 Coptic Christians martyred by IS terrorists in Libya.

From Tony's blog, Contra Mundum:
"As I sat and watched the feed on my IPad, my heart began to sink, my body began to shake, and I grew extremely anxious. It was surreal watching something that seemed like a movie, instead these weren't actors, but real people being led to their slaughter by masked men"

US MARINE HELD IN IRANIAN PRISON MAKES PLEA TO OBAMA

While U.S. President Barack Obama strives to make a Nuclear deal with The Islamic Republic of Iran U.S. Marine Veteran Amir Hekmati  remains unjustly incarcerated in an Iranian prison.

Hekmati, who was falsely accused and imprisoned while visiting his grandmother in Iran wrote a letter to the POTUS THREE MONTHS ago (in December) - making a desperate appeal not to forget him -but to work on procuring his freedom independent of any nuclear deal:

From The Washington Post:
"Hekmati, who served as an infantryman from 2001 to 2005, says in the letter that his imprisonment has included time in solitary confinement. He is deeply concerned that his release is tied to U.S. negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program.“I ask that you not forget me, Mr. President,” Hekmati said. “I understand there will be additional dialogue this week on the nuclear subject. I ask that you make it clear that my case is unrelated and should be resolved independent of your talks. I ask that your team impress on Iranian officials that more than three years (length of incarceration) without resolution is simply too long.”
Although the courageous Veteran longs for the U.S. Government to effectively free him from his horrific ordeal in Iranian prison - he does not want to gain it by being part of a nuclear deal with the Islamic Republic.

PLEASE SUPPORT ARCHBISHOP CORDILEONE: FLAG PETITION

A petition is circulating against Faithful Shepard of the church Archbishop Cordileone - in attempt to restrict religious freedom within a religious institution: Catholic School!

It is not only unjust but communistic in nature to refer to Catholic teaching within CATHOLIC LEARNING INSTITUTIONS as "discriminatory" as this petition against the Archbishop attempts to do.

"San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone has proposed that teachers and staff at Bay Area high schools within the Archdiocese accept “morality clauses” that condemn homosexuality as contrary to “natural law,” contraception as “intrinsically evil,” ordination of female priests as impossible, and use of assisted reproductive technology as a “grave evil.” Every staff member is expected to “conduct their lives so as to not visibly contradict, undermine or deny these truths.”

LIES.
It has nothing to do with discrimination and everything to do with "the powers that be" trying to take down the church. The enemy has been and continues to advance swiftly.

The Catholic church has EVERY RIGHT to practice and adhere to the Faith within Her learning institutions. Christians, this issue is crucial and a vital precedent will be set. The enemy unceasingly prowls and we are on the FRONT LINES OF AN UNRELENTING SIEGE AGAINST THE CHURCH. We must pray and ACT NOW.

I ask ALL people of Faith including our Christian brothers and sisters of other denominations to join us in fighting the relentless adversary. Please visit this petition and Flag it as inappropriate:

Petition: Discrimination and fear don't belong in our schools

ONE MORE MISSION BEFORE YOU GO:
If you haven't already - I strongly urge you to sign THIS petition by Catholic Vote.org - thanking and supporting our Faithful Archbishop.

From Catholic Vote:
"Here are the details:
The Archbishop released a document clarifying Catholic teaching on issues such as the sanctity of all life, the definition of marriage, contraception, and other points of Catholic doctrine. He asked that teachers in Catholic schools “avoid fostering confusion among the faithful and any dilution of the schools’ primary Catholic mission. [They] are expected to arrange and conduct their lives so as not to visibly contradict, undermine or deny these truths.”
He wrote that this was not meant to target teachers for dismissal or micromanage their personal lives. But for the sake of the students, they are asked to not publicly contradict Church teaching.
And now a group of eight California lawmakers are demanding the Archbishop “reconsider and withdraw” the reforms he instituted. These anti-Catholic politicians accused the Archbishop of being “divisive” and are demanding that he “stop his attack” on lesbians and gays."
