Police: Parking dispute may have led to triple Chapel Hill shooting

46 year old self proclaimed Atheist Craig Stephen Hicks has been arrested in the shooting deaths of a man, his wife and his sister in the Chapel Hill Area of North Carolina. All three victims were Muslim.

From WRAL.com:

"Chapel Hill police said Wednesday that an ongoing dispute over parking may have led to a triple shooting Tuesday night at a condominium complex on Summerwalk Circle."

According to WRAL.com police made this statement to address concerns over the possibility of the killings being a possible "hate crime," :

"Police said Wednesday that they are looking into what led to the "senseless and tragic act." "We understand the concerns about the possibility that this was hate-motivated and we will exhaust every lead to determine if that is the case," Chapel Hill Police Chief Chris Blue said in a statement."

#ChapelHillShooting has been trending this morning on Twitter and other Social Media in response to the shootings.

Here Are The Tools to Negate POTUS Comparison of Christians to Islamic State

On the off chance that you haven't  heard POTUS' recent remarks at the National Prayer Breakfast: He irrationally compared Christians to ISIS by citing the Crusades. Watch and listen:

It's easy to become incensed over such diabolical statements, especially coming from the leader of the United States of America. We must collect ourselves and take action. We cannot allow yet another deception to be perpetuated - let us instead strive to educate others.

These diabolical tactics either seek to soften the horrors of ISIS or are born of true ignorance - neither of which befit a U.S. President. To somehow attempt to put the emphasis on Christians - especially in light of the recent Christian genocide at the hands of ISIS in Mosul, Iraq - adds insult to severe injury.

So let us begin to educate. In this video Dr Bill Warner of the "Center for the Study of Political Islam" gives a "history on the Crusades and what really happened" courtesy of Catholic radio show host Patrick Madrid:

Lastly I submit a rather short video in which several experts on Islamic terrorism (including Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch and Dr Bill Warner) explain why ISIS is CLEARLY practicing ISLAM in it's purest form.

Please feel free to share this with those who do not understand the reality: That the evil fought in the Crusades is the very same evil we fight now at the hands of ISIS. Finally Christians, never forget that you are His Hands! Speak the Truth in Love and please - remember to pray for guidance before, during and after these conversations. God bless you :)

Appeals Court Takes Up EWTN Challenge
to HHS Mandate
Oral Arguments Heard by 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals

Irondale, AL (EWTN) –
A three-judge panel of the 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta heard oral arguments today in the ongoing legal challenge brought by EWTN Global Catholic Network against the government’s contraceptive services mandate.  The mandate was issued by the US Department of Health and Human Services as part of the Affordable Care Act and requires employer-sponsored health care plans to provide full coverage for contraception, abortion inducing drugs and sterilization procedures or face massive government imposed fines for failing to do so.

EWTN Global Catholic Network originally filed a lawsuit against the mandate in 2012 arguing that the government’s order to provide services which it considers morally objectionable was unconstitutional.  That first lawsuit was dismissed on technical grounds in March 2013.  The Network filed a new suit in October 2013 and was joined as a co-plaintiff by the State of Alabama and its Attorney General Luther Strange.

In June 2014 US District Court Judge Callie Granade ruled against the Network and refused to provide EWTN with protection from the mandate while the case was appealed.  Hours after the US Supreme Court ruled on the mandate’s application to certain for-profit companies in the Hobby Lobby decision, the 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals granted a temporary injunction to EWTN on June 30, 2014. That injunction allowed EWTN to continue its court challenge of the mandate without incurring the penalties of more than $35,000 per day that would have begun on July 1, 2014.

“Three years after we first began our legal fight against the government’s unjust mandate, EWTN finally had its day in court,” said EWTN Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Michael P. Warsaw.   “I am grateful that the judges of the 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals heard our arguments against this mandate.”
“Despite the fact that there have been hundreds of lawsuits filed against this mandate and that it has lost nearly all of the cases that have been considered by the courts, the government continues to try to argue that it should be allowed to force organizations like EWTN to violate deeply held religious beliefs and to provide services which they find to be immoral,” continued Warsaw.
“Religious ministries have been winning these challenges overwhelmingly.  Most courts understand that the government can’t fine you for living out your faith,” said Lori Windham, Senior Counsel of the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty and lead attorney for EWTN.  “EWTN is asking for nothing more than the most basic religious freedom:  the freedom to practice what it preaches,” said Windham.
“After today’s hearing, I am more encouraged than ever that the courts will protect EWTN and other similar institutions by affirming our right to religious freedom,” noted Warsaw.

Founded by Mother Mary Angelica, a Poor Clare Nun, the EWTN Global Catholic Network is now in its 34th year.  EWTN is available in over 238 million television households in more than 140 countries and territories. With itsdirect broadcast satellite televisionand radio services, AM & FM radio networks, worldwide short-wave radio station,Internet website www.ewtn.com, electronicand print news services, and publishing arm, EWTN is the largest religious media network in the world.

FEBRUARY 4th 2015: 11th Circuit Court to Hear EWTN VS HHS MANDATE

EWTN to Make its Case in HHS Mandate Challenge
11th Circuit Court of Appeals to Hear Oral Arguments

EWTN Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Michael P. Warsaw

Irondale, AL (EWTN) –
The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta will hear oral arguments at 9:00 a.m. Eastern on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 in the legal challenge brought by EWTN Global Catholic Network against the government’s HHS contraceptive services mandate.

The Court of Appeals granted a temporary injunction on June 30, 2014 preventing the government from enforcing the mandate against EWTN.  The injunction came after US District Court Judge Callie Granade of Mobile declined to protect EWTN from the mandate and its fines. The appeals court issued a twenty-nine page order just hours after the U.S. Supreme Court decision in the Hobby Lobby case. The injunction allowed EWTN to continue its court challenge of the mandate without incurring the penalties of $35,000 per day that would have begun on July 1, 2014.

“EWTN looks forward to being able to make our case against the government’s contraceptive services mandate,” said EWTN Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Michael P. Warsaw. “As we have said repeatedly throughout this process, contraception, abortion-inducing drugs and voluntary sterilization are not health care and the government should not force EWTN to provide them as part of our employer-sponsored health plan. “In the Hobby Lobby case, the Supreme Court made it clear that the government has an obligation to use the least restrictive means of accomplishing its goals,” continued Warsaw.  “In our own case, EWTN has raised similar arguments with regard to the government’s ‘accommodation’ scheme for faith-based organizations. The government should not be allowed to hijack EWTN’s health plan for its own purposes. We are confident that the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals will recognize that the government should not be able to force us to act contrary to our beliefs.”

EWTN Global Catholic Network, in its 34th year, is available in over 230 million television households in more than 140 countries and territories.
