Our world is in a state of turmoil. It is tantamount that here in America, and throughout the world we pray for our leaders in order to enact real and lasting change.
"First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way. This is good, and it is acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."I am currently participating in a Bible study and this is one of the readings we meditated upon recently - and it spoke strongly to my heart - prompting me to sit at my computer and write this immediately after my morning prayer.
When we attend Mass Catholics do pray for world leaders - and I'm sure other Christians do at services. We must also remember to do so in our daily prayers. We need to follow the Holy Scriptures and remember to pray for "kings" and "those in high places" that we may experience "quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way." I leave you to ponder another verse as well. May the Lord speak to your heart. James 4:1-2:
"What causes wars, and what causes fightings among you? Is it not your passions that are at war in your members? You desire and do not have; so you kill. And you covet and cannot obtain; so you fight and wage war. You do not have, because you do not ask."
A nation that turns her back on God will not continue to be blessed.
Please . . . do it now . . . let us pray.
