I've been tossing around the idea for quite some time now.
A veil/mantilla is so lovely and reverent, I wish we never stopped wearing them. When I was a little girl sometimes my grandmother used to "bobby pin" a tissue to my head, or a scrap of lace. Even then (circa 1968-69) veils were phasing out.

My feeling is that I would love to bring back this tradition - to express reverence. The veils of today are so pretty, they come in all colors and lengths. However, I'm worried that it would be too much of a distraction - since it is not the norm. The last thing I want to do is to draw attention to myself and distract others from Jesus.

Perhaps we could start a movement where we all begin wearing them again. What is your opinion?

The USCCB - after uniting in prayer - issued a statement regarding the Newtown tragedy. The Bishops referenced Vatican document "The International Arms Trade" of 2006 in yesterdays response:
"With regard to the regulation of fire arms, first, the intent to protect one's loved ones is an honorable one, but simply put, guns are too easily accessible. The Vatican's Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, in their document, "The International Arms Trade (2006)," emphasized the importance of enacting concrete controls on handguns, for example, noting that "limiting the purchase of such arms would certainly not infringe on the rights of anyone."

The committee  pointed out the "desensitization" of society at the hands of the lucrative entertainment business - particularly citing the effect of violence on our young people. They have called for responsibility and improved resources for parents, guardians and the young:
"Secondly, our entertainers, especially film producers and video game creators, need to realize how their profit motives have allowed the proliferation of movies, television programs, video games and other entertainment that glorify violence and prey on the insecurities and immaturity of our young people. Such portrayals of violence have desensitized all of us. The massacre of twenty little children and seven adults causes each of us to reflect on our own understanding of the value of human life. We must improve our resources for parents, guardians and young people, so that they can evaluate entertainment products intelligently. We need to admit that the viewing and use of these products has negative emotional, psychological and spiritual effects on people."

The Bishops also addressed the need for health services and support of the mentally ill and their families:
"We must also reflect on our own fears as we grapple with our prejudices toward those with mental health needs. Our society must provide health services and support to those who have mental illnesses and to their families and caregivers. As a community we need to support one another so no one feels unable to get help for a mentally ill family member or neighbor in need."

In recent times America has had a great need for the defense of our Constitutional rights. I have joined with many others in the vehement defense of these rights - especially our religious freedom and the right to bear arms. I am American - but above all things I am Catholic. Jesus Christ calls His followers to live out the Faith in every aspect of our lives. He gave us His Holy Spirit led Church to preach, guide and instruct.

I may not trust the current administration but I trust in God and His Church. If you are truly Catholic - then you are called to do the same. The Magisterium has called for the regulation of firearms. I accept this and abide by whatever it entails, trusting that we are truly in God's Hands. You can read the Bishop's response in it's entirety here:

WWJD? 2012

In the wake of the horrific Newtown tragedy a grieving, collective nation is left asking many difficult questions. What are the answers? Gun control? More guns? How do we defend ourselves?  I think we can all agree on stricter background checks. My husband and I propose this: that gun owners be mandated to submit to annual inspections - ensuring that weapons are securely stored on the premises of a home or business.

Texas is a prime example of a State where very few of these incidents occur - primarily because residents are armed. I feel certain that any "prospective shooter" would think twice - knowing that their action would be reciprocated almost immediately if they even attempted such a heinous act.

In pondering this issue with my husband today I found myself asking: What Would Jesus Do? We must first and foremost prayerfully turn to our Blessed Lord for solutions in all things. Knowing that the magisterium of the Church is Holy Spirit led I will accept any answer that comes from the holy father - who's entire life is a reflection of this question.

Our secular nation may be offended by the notion of turning to Christ and His earthly vicar for answers - but it is "right and just" to do so. Being "politically correct" and tip toeing around sinful behaviors has gotten us into enough trouble.

May Almighty God help us to protect all innocent life - and to do His will in all matters - through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Christ is Being Crucified NOW - In Times Square

Did you know that Christ is still being crucified?  Today - in the middle of the public square. I will not post the photo here - but you can click this link from "The Catholic League" to view it:

The fact that this awful billboard is hanging in the middle of Times Square, New York City is particularly significant. I can say this - because I am a New Yorker (Long Island.) Christ is being crucified in one of the most aggressively secular, corrupt, vile, hedonistic cities in the United States. I was in "the City" (as Long Islanders refer to it) this past weekend. The billboard wasn't hanging yet but you could see the devil prowling. One could almost hear him roar.

Something else steadily burns beneath the twinkling "holiday" lights and decorations of Manhattan. The enormous video screens in Times Square blast everyone within seeing distance with inappropriate images of scantily clad people frolicking and dancing about. Newsstands boldly display vulgar magazine covers and so called "newspapers" - and billboards feature gay couples embracing - many of them quite young. Victoria's secret and other like minded stores feature gigantic billboards of women in barely there undergarments, photographed in seductive positions. Every man, woman and child passerby is subjected to these images . . . and much, much more.

Someone remarked to me that it is "good to have your Faith challenged" and that Christians "shouldn't live in a cocoon of comfort." No worries there! It is virtually impossible to LIVE the Christian life and be "cocooned in comfort." Just take a look at the lives of the saints. YES, I am comparing us to saints because each one of us is called to sainthood - and if that is what we aspire to - it's anything but "comfortable." The beauty is this: the peace of Christ permeating our hearts is greater than any comfort the world can offer.

Please pray for the "American Atheists" group that paid big money to crucify our Lord once again. Unbeknownst to them - if they do not ask for God's Mercy they will suffer eternal perdition. I feel certain that our Blessed Lord is once again saying, "Father forgive them, they know not what they do."

A Day of Public Thanksgiving and Prayer to Almighty God

This headline title is a direct quote of our first President, George Washington - reaffirming  the fact that our great Nation was indeed founded under God.

The "salt girls" would like to wish everyone a happy, peaceful and grace filled Thanksgiving. May you enjoy the companionship and warmth of family and friends, recalling all there is to be grateful for. May the Lord greatly bless you all.

The World at War

I am of course making reference to the Israel-Gaza conflict. I will begin by stating that I stand with Israel - and with the right of anybody to protect themselves if there is a true threat.

I now ask this question: What would Jesus Do? My own heart grieves after viewing photos of little ones who have been suffering for the sins of the fathers. Suffering and dying - as grown men end the day resting in warm beds. Does it really matter what "side" they're on? What would our Lord say?

The Lord put us on this earth to know love and serve Him - and to love our neighbor. Being human we all fall short of living the joy and purpose God intended for us. How does this innocent bloodshed - in any way - fulfill God's plan?  Not only does it negate God's plan for humanity - it is not of God. It is never of God to cause His precious little ones to suffer so horribly. In viewing the photos of these babies two words come to mind: INNOCENT BLOODSHED.  I almost felt like I was looking at images of aborted babies. Oh how sorely disappointed our God must be with humanity - that we cause His precious little ones to suffer so!

The images of these babies are graphic so I will post links only. You will be upset. However what you will feel will not be a tenth of what these innocent victims felt. We need to know - so that our grieving hearts can cry out to the Lord in prayer. The decision is yours. I have chosen one video and two photographs:

BBC Cameraman grieves over lifeless body of 11 month old son

The world is at war. We are all in a constant state of spiritual warfare and for Israel and Gaza it has spilled over into the physical realm. We all inhabit the same planet - we all feel the ripples. Whether or not you agree with this statement does not matter - it is true.

So I beg you to pray. Pray for an end to this conflict. We know that with God all things are possible. Be strong in your Faith and your petitions. I ask you to offer up everything you have, do and are to alleviate the suffering of these little ones. Pray the rosary, pray in adoration, offer up the Mass, the Holy Eucharist, every action you carry out this day. Pray for the babies, the leaders - pray for the men who fire the missiles. Please - pray for peace with everything you've got.

The Nation that Booed God

Yesterday the majority of America chose to re-elect an administration that booed God (as seen in the demoncratic convention.) This encompasses a wide range of intrinsic evils including the radical promotion of abortion, sterilization and same sex "marriage." These moral non-negotiables are perpetuated by an administration that seeks - and thus far has been successful - to restrict religious freedom, trample on the Constitution and parade sin and death as "choice" and "freedom."

From the Book of Wisdom 3:10-13

"But the ungodly will be punished as their reasoning deserves, who disregarded the righteous man and rebelled against the Lord; for whoever despises wisdom and instruction is miserable. Their hope is in vain, their labors are unprofitable and their works are useless. Their wives are foolish and their children evil; their offspring accursed."

The wages of sin are death. As unpopular as this truth is - moral relativism does not negate it. Many of us use our freewill gift to choose sin and spiritual death - not only in this election but daily. I believe that most people aren't even aware that they are making this choice. I am a work in progress and I make my share of mistakes - but I do pray - and I know when God speaks to my heart. If only all of mankind would turn to Him - speaking to Him in prayer - they could experience His Love and His Guidance - and all the joy that comes with it.

Salvation of Souls

The only thing that matters now - the only thing that ever mattered - is the salvation of souls. Continue to fight the good fight! We must continue to be lights in this ever increasing darkness by our words, deeds and actions. We must be doers of the Word and not just hearers, living out the Gospel with the purpose of redemption.

Salt and Light

And so now more than ever we are called to be salt and light. Continue to pray without ceasing and receive the Sacraments often. Utilize sacramentals - especially holy water which the enemy hates. Say the Name of Jesus often - for at the Holy Name demons tremble and blessings are poured forth. I just had this conversation with a friend last night and this morning I was thrilled by God's awesomeness when I saw today's reading. The Holy Spirit never ceases to amaze me! From the letter of Saint Paul to the Philippians:

"Therefore my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for God is at work in you, both to will and to work for good pleasure. Do all things without grumbling or questioning, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I dd not run in vain or labor in vain."
Philippians 3:12-17

Our labors were not and are not in vain and we must continue forward - in the true sense of the word. Keep up the good fight and let us work to snatch souls from the grasp of the enemy! Lastly do not despair but remember: Jesus Christ our Hope prevails yesterday, today and forever - and God brings good to all those who love Him!

Jesus, I Trust in You!

Tuesday November 6, 2012: Election Day

I just finished praying the patriotic rosary for our country. (sorrowful mysteries for Tuesday.) This prayer covers each and every State and citizen of the United States in the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ. My intention was of course the election - and the conversion of our country. I cannot vote for a President who supports many intrinsic evils - and calls them "rights." I will be voting for Mitt Romney. May God's Divine, Providential Will be done! Whatever the outcome I will accept it as His having allowed it. May His Hand guide us all today as we vote for The Presidency, Amen.

Quote From the Patriotic Rosary:

"It may be the will of Heaven that America shall suffer calamities still more wasting and distresses yet more dreadful. If this is to be the case, it will have this good effect, at least: it will inspire us with many virtues, which we have not, and correct many errors, follies, and vices, which threaten to disturb, dishonor, and destroy us.

The furnace of affliction produces refinement, in states as well as individuals. And the new governments we are assuming, in every part, will require a purification from our vices, and an augmentation of our virtues or there will be no blessings . . . But I must submit all my hopes and fears to an overruling Providence; in which, unfashionable as the Faith may be, I firmly believe."

John Adams, July 3, 1776

God Bless America

God bless America.
Land that I love.
Stand beside her and guide her,
Through the night with the light from above.
From the mountains to the prairies
To the oceans white with foam.
God bless America.
My home sweet home.

God bless America
My home sweet home.

Please remember to keep New York in your prayers. Living on Long Island I can tell you that life is far from "back to normal" and we appreciate your prayers very much. God bless you all . . . and God bless America!

Election 2012: George Washington Speaks

"No one can rejoice more than I do at every step the people of this great country take to preserve the Union, establish good order and government, and to render the nation happy at home and respectable abroad.

No country upon earth ever had it more in its power to attain these blessings than United America. Wondrously strange then, and much to be regretted indeed would it be, were we to neglect the means, and to depart from the road which Providence has pointed us so plainly; I cannot believe it will ever come to pass.

The Great Governor of the Universe has led us too long and too far on the road to happiness and glory to forsake us in the midst of it. By folly and improper conduct, proceeding from a variety of causes, we may now and then get bewildered; but I hope and trust that there is good sense and virtue enough left to recover the right path before we shall be entirely lost."
George Washington, June 29, 1788

Wise words from the God fearing, founding father of our country - on the importance of preserving our nation. It's uncanny how timely a message this actually is. We need to follow the example of our first President in thought, prayer and deed so that we may once again become the greatest and most respected nation on earth!  I urge every one of you to continue praying hard.

Black Genocide

Every human person regardless of race or faith - should be concerned with this and the many issues encompassed within the abortion industry.

Please - ask yourself now if you have the courage to learn the real facts about the taking of innocent life by abortion. For an in depth analysis of the moneymaking "abortion industry in America,"  I highly recommend this film:

"Get wisdom, get understanding! Do not forget or turn aside from the words of my mouth. Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; love her, and she will safeguard you;The beginning of wisdom is: get wisdom; whatever else you get, get understanding." Proverbs 4:5-7

We are The Hands of Christ

The Missionaries of the Poor

EWTN ran a special yesterday about the amazing mission of these priests and brothers - and I was moved to tears to the point that I knew the Holy Spirit was at work. These compassionate men are most definitely the hands of Christ. They ease the pain of so many who suffer from lack and excruciating physical (and spiritual) neglect.  I cried my eyes out through the presentation and I was determined to help with prayer, spreading the word, a donation and I hope some day to volunteer at one of the missions (feeling called to Jamaica.)

I visited their website which explains that you may help in several ways. You can donate money or much needed supplies - or you may volunteer at one of their locations (they put you up in their housing.) As I watched and listened to Fr. Richard Ho Lung he began to remind me of Blessed Mother Teresa. It isn't long so please - take a quick look:

May God bless each and every one these holy men for their sacrifice and compassion. May the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ cover, enable and protect them in their daily work and in their rest. May He continue to work through them to bring healing, happiness and the knowledge of Christ's love to  those who would otherwise die in the streets (literally) - having never known even the smallest of comforts. And may other souls be touched as deeply as I've been - so that we too may act as the hands of Christ and together provide the means for this mission to continue. I ask all this through Christ our Lord, Amen.

Same Speech, Different Election

People need to see this video - He is using the very same words he used in 2008 - promises he made then, promises he is making now - and nothing new. We need to vote Obama OUT of office, period.

Election 2012: The Catholic Dilemma

I've known all along that I'm voting for Romney. I went into this with the realization that I would be voting for the lesser evil. However, after the first debate I felt better about my choice to vote for Romney. I found him to be clear and concise in his responses, stating the facts without faltering. Since he is a businessman he may even be able to get us out of this fiscal mess. Romney is also bold in his faith, never hesitating to announce "I believe in God." Since I am Catholic his pro-life position has been big for me - even bigger when he chose Paul Ryan as his running mate.

New Romney Ad

Sadly, last night I saw an ad actually endorsed by Mitt Romney stating that he supports contraception - and abortion in certain cases. Now, I fully realize that these cases - rape, incest and the mother's health - constitute less than one percent of all abortions statistically - perhaps this is how he views it. But as a Catholic I was sorely disappointed and even sickened when I saw this ad. I cannot post the video here. It can be seen "by link" only, so here is a link to the NY Times article where you can see the video: NY Times Article with Romney Ad supporting Contraception and Abortion

Having said this -  I'm still voting for Romney because he is clearly the lesser of two evils. President Obama supports abortion, infanticide, sterilization and contraception 100% of the time. Heck, he even wants your employer to pay for birth control - even if it goes against everything they believe in - including their religion. Further I will not contribute to what has already begun to take place at the new Kremlin, er, umm, I mean the White House: the socialization of America.

As Christians we are always called to prayer - and I do include the current administration in my prayers. Now more than ever we need to pray hard for Mitt Romney . . . that he will become enlightened to the fact that no matter how a baby is conceived - it is always innocent.

Day 23 - 40 Days For Life - Devotional

God does not love the way we love:

But the Lord said "You have had pity on the plant for which you have not labored, nor made it grow, which came up in the night and perished in the night. And should I not pity Nineveh, that great city, in which are more than one hundred and twenty thousand persons who cannot discern between their right hand and their left, and much livestock? Should I not be concerned about that great city?"
-- Jonah 4:10-11

October 17, 2012

Answer: Because the goal is to achieve salvation & inherit eternal life and the ONLY way to get there is through Jesus Christ.  Not long ago Cardinal Wuerl said that a "tsunami of secular influence has swept across the cultural landscape." Hear Hear!

The secular notion that we should keep Faith "in a box for Sunday"  contrasts with the teachings of Jesus Christ and His Church.

"If we live by the Spirit (Gal 5:25), we will be led by the Spirit (Gal 5:18). We will then walk in the Spirit (Gal 5:25), Who will produce in our lives the fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22-23). However, if we stifle (1Thes 5:19) or sadden the Spirit (Eph 4:30), we will do the works of the flesh (see Gal 5:19-21.)"
When we "walk the walk" in our daily lives we surely do encounter hostility from secularists. We hear it in the workplace, "leave your Faith at home!" We hear it when we speak of politics, "Leave your Faith out of this!" Secularists deny God - and they want us to do the same.  NO! We cannot and we WILL not. Our Blessed Lord instructs us to boldly proclaim the Truth in everything we do. We are either FOR Him or we are against Him. Weren't most of us secular at one time? I'm thankful that someone had the courage to walk in the Spirit and plant the seeds of Faith in my own life.

Goal: Salvation!

A Christian who keeps their Faith in a box is an antithesis and cannot "bear the fruits of the Spirit." Let us ask God for the grace to walk BOLDLY in Faith - not only for ourselves but to help lead others to the path of salvation! Don't let the enemy gain their soul - or your own. BE BOLD. Here's a small example: I watch very little secular media. I seek out Christian entertainment because I won't entertain myself with anything that is offensive to God. When asked to watch a movie, I answer honestly. THUSLY I've received more than my share of derogatory comments, eye rolls etc. - but I don't care! I know I am blessed with each eye roll and every negative comment. I realize that inner purity and being a Christian role model are the bigger issues here.

As followers of Christ we are all called to be "doers of the word and not just hearers." The narrow path provides lasting joy! When we "walk the walk" we are living proclamations of His Word to all we meet - and God's Word never fails to bear fruit - Never.

Jesus, I Trust In You

34th Anniversary of Election of Pope John Paul II the Great

Is there anyone who does not remember the chant, "John Paul II, we love you!" I remember it well and he truly was beloved. How blessed we were to have such a holy pope for as long as we did. Today we honor and remember him in a special way, because it is the 34th anniversary of the election of Cardinal Karol Wojtyla as Pope. We did and still do love him.

"Cardinal Felici annonunces the Habemus Papam to the Public
which indicates that Karol Wojtyla has been elected Pope"

A Polish Documentary Film. Even the preview is beautiful, and accurate!

If you haven't seen this movie it is excellent. Both Cary Elwes as the young Karol and Jon Voight as Pope John Paul II give powerful and moving performances. (Even my husband "the action movie man" liked it and there is plenty of action!)

I leave you with this beautiful prayer:

O Blessed Trinity, we thank You for having
graced the Church with Blessed John Paul
II and for allowing the tenderness of Your
Fatherly care, the glory of the Cross of
Christ, and the splender of the Spirit of love,
to shine through him. Trusting fully in
Your infinite mercy and in the maternal intercession
of Mary, he has given us a living
image of Jesus the Good Shepherd, and has
shown us that holiness is the necessary
measure of ordinary Christian life and is
the way of achieving eternal communion
with You. Grant us, by his intercession, and
according to Your will, the graces we implore,
hoping that he will soon be numbered
among Your saints. Amen.

Day 21 - 40 Days For Life - Devotional

198 lives saved so far and we stand; here we put on the full armor of God, to battle the scourge named Abortion.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all, to stand.

Fr. Barron On The Dark Forces

Father Barron's commentary on the devil is educational and informative (as he always is.)  There were a few things Fr. Barron brought into a whole new light for me - when he demonstrated that they are of the darkness!

Saint Paul instructs us in the need for vigilance when he tells us in 1Peter 5:8 RSV to "Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour."

I pray that more hearts will come to realize that we are all - each and every one of us - engaged in a daily spiritual battle. Not believing it does not make it so, but it will put your soul in peril. We cannot fight effectively if we are not armed!

I leave you with the words of Saint Paul in his letter to the Ephesians. "Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil," and "stand therefore, having girded our loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the equipment of the gospel of peace; above all taking the shield of faith, with which you can quench all the flaming darts of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God. Pray at all times in the Spirit, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints and also for me , that utterance may be given me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel."

Amen, amen . . . and for us all!

Jesus, I trust in You!

Represent??? Better word for it: Cave.

Good Heavens.

Since when are our shepherds--our bishops--supposed to "represent" ill-informed, badly catechized Catholics who don't practice their faith?
Gimme a break! If married Catholic couples DID what the Catholic Church provides --NATURAL family planning-- their bodies, spiritual lives AND marriages would be better off AND healthier.
But no--poison your bodies, disorder your married lives and disobey the unchanging teaching of the truth by the one Church that Jesus Christ GIFTED us with. How do you think that will work out for you when you stand before Him, or even before that, as your bodies respond to the poison the pharmaceutical companies sell you and you toss out the trust and bonding that NFP enhances?
Educate yourselves! And don't expect the bishops to "represent" you if you willfully disregard the teaching they are entrusted to share.

As an American I was sickened and embarrassed last night. If you watched the debate then you already know that our Vice President was rude, arrogant and just plain disrespectful. Biden spent the first 30 minutes of the debate yelling at Paul Ryan in addition to interrupting him constantly - which the moderator Martha Raddatz allowed. At one point both the moderator and VP Biden interrupted Ryan at the same time!

As if this wasn't bad enough Biden cackled, grinned, sighed, smirked and outright laughed while Paul Ryan was speaking. In fact he was laughing so hard at times I was waiting for him to fall off his chair. He was anything but Vice Presidential up to and including his mastery of the English language. When he told Paul Ryan that this is just a "bunch of stuff" the moderator actually asked him in a serious tone, "bunch of stuff-what is that- explain to me-I don't know what that means." "It's Irish" Paul Ryan interpreted. Apparently Biden is fluent in the use of Irish phrases since he used the word "malarkey" several times as well.

Catholic Joe
When the issue of abortion was raised Biden's hand waving, finger pointing and hollering ceased. "Angry Joe" and "Laughing Joe" were gone. "Funeral director Joe" was on the scene with a new somber tone. My stomach turned when Biden called himself "a practicing Catholic" since his views/actions (in this case pro abortion) are not in keeping with the Faith. Sitting in a pew once a week for an hour does not make one a practicing Catholic - any more than watching a football game makes one a football player. I pray that the Holy Spirit will enlighten him and that "the unknowing" will not view this man as an example of a practicing Catholic.

Each one of us is a work in progress but public figures like Biden (and nuns on the bus) who actually contrast with Church teaching send the wrong message. When all the hilarity is said and done a very bad taste remains in my mouth. It is discomforting at the very least to know that this rude, obnoxious man could very well become President of the United States if necessary.

October 11, 2012 The Year of Faith Begins Today!

The Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI has declared a "Year of Faith" which begins today and ends on November 24, 2013. He is calling for Catholics to enter into a deeper relationship with Jesus, experiencing a deeper conversion of Faith.

In the apostolic letter "Porta fidei" Pope Benedict begins:
"1. The “door of faith” (Acts 14:27) is always open for us, ushering us into the life of communion with God and offering entry into his Church. It is possible to cross that threshold when the word of God is proclaimed and the heart allows itself to be shaped by transforming grace. To enter through that door is to set out on a journey that lasts a lifetime. It begins with baptism (cf. Rom 6:4), through which we can address God as Father, and it ends with the passage through death to eternal life, fruit of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, whose will it was, by the gift of the Holy Spirit, to draw those who believe in him into his own glory (cf. Jn 17:22). To profess faith in the Trinity – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – is to believe in one God who is Love (cf. 1 Jn 4:8): the Father, who in the fullness of time sent his Son for our salvation; Jesus Christ, who in the mystery of his death and resurrection redeemed the world; the Holy Spirit, who leads the Church across the centuries as we await the Lord’s glorious return."
The USCCB Website introduces and addresses the year of Faith, and provides resources (videos, etc) to assist us in living out the Year of Faith: USCCB WEBSITE: THE YEAR OF FAITH

I hope you find this information helpful. Here's to a fruitful "Year of Faith," another chapter in our lifelong journey with Christ! Off I go to daily Mass! Have a blessed day everybody!

Baptist Universities file suit against HHS Mandate

God brings good out of everything - and it's always amazing to watch Him work!

Persecution Leading to Unity
Iron is forged through fire and we are surely going through the fire now. The American Church is being persecuted to an extreme we've never seen before - and at the hands of our own government.

We now see Americans - Christian, Jewish, Morman (Glen Beck, Mitt Romney,) etc - standing up, praying together and fighting for our God given right to freedom. The beautiful thing that's come out of Obama's HHS Mandate is this solidarity we are currently experiencing. The fight for religious freedom has us holding hands like never before!
From EWTN News:
Two Baptist universities in Texas have joined scores of other institutions in filing a lawsuit against the federal contraception mandate, arguing that it infringes upon their free exercise of religion by forcing them to violate their sincerely-held religious beliefs.“While we are always reluctant to enter into lawsuits, the government has given us no choice,” said Dr. Robert Sloan, president of Houston Baptist University.  I have made a personal choice to stay focused on blessings like this regardless of what happens. I will continue to stand alongside my fellow Americans, pray without ceasing and fight the good fight.  As always my Faith will sustain me and I will take comfort in the assurance of our Blessed Lord that "the gates of hell will not prevail!"

Jesus, I Trust in You!
